How to Become an Exceptional Presenter … the Chamber’s Training Centre

Julie McLaughlin (Front) with recent Exceptional Presenter course participants

On August 30th, a total of nine participants benefited from the skills imparted by Chamber instructor, Juliem McLaughlin, in the course entitled “The Exceptional Presenter”. In this one-day workshop, participants learned practical techniques on how to structure presentation material, create visual aids, speak with

confidence and handle an audience. The group enhanced techniques on delivery, controlling nerves, building confidence, conquering bad habits, creating opening and closing statements in business communication, and understanding the impact of verbal and nonverbal communication. Delisia Ebanks attended the training session and was impressed with what she learned.

“The Exceptional Presenter was just that. I received an ample amount of pointers on how to be the best presenter, even when you are nervous. The detail and exercises helped to guide all of us through the presentation. The session gave us the ability to break down the presentation in a way that relates to your audience. I would definitely advise everyone to take this course to help them whether it may be for a course work or a presentation for work.” Delisia Ebanks, workshop participant.

Julie McLaughlin, course facilitator, is the Director of Mediation and Facilitation at Solutions Ltd. in the Cayman Islands. In addition to being a trainer for the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce and the Cayman Islands Society of Human Resources Professionals, Julie has extensive knowledge of organisational development and strategic change, particularly focusing on interpersonal communication, employee relations, team building and group problem solving.
