HBO’s comedies premiere this April with a new kind of humor

MIAMI, FL. March 20, 2018 – A different kind of humor arrives to HBO this April. SILICON VALLEY, the Emmy®-winning comedy, nominated for a Golden Globe®, returns for its fifth season following Richard and his smart friends on their journey after the “gold rush” of high technology. Meanwhile, Bill Hader stars as a depressed hitman who is hoping to start a new life as an actor in the new comedy series BARRY.

SILICON VALLEY premieres its fifth season on March 25 at 10pm* and BARRY at 10:30pm*, only on HBO.

BARRY

In the pilot of this new eight-episode comedy, Barry (Bill Hader) is a hitman sent to Los Angeles by his “representative” Fuches (Stephen Root), to execute a target of the Chechnian mafia. The target is an aspiring actor, who happens to be part of a group led by the theater master and guru Gene Cousineau (Henry Winkler). Barry is intrigued by the class and especially attracted to Sally (Sarah Goldberg). The idea of starting a new life is appealing to Barry; however, the criminal world will not let him go so easily.

The series was created and executively produced by Alec Berg and Bill Hader with Aida Rodgers and Emily Heller as producers, and Liz Sarnoff as production consultant. In addition to starring in the series, Bill Hader makes his directorial debut this season.

SILICON VALLEY

In this eight-episode season of SILICON VALLEY, the guys from Pied Piper come closer to the fame and fortune they’ve been waiting for with the upcoming launch of their new decentralized internet project “PiperNet.” However, the more money there is, the more problems there are. While Richard faces the responsibilities as CEO of a rapidly growing company, he has to deal with the pressures of investors: Monica, Laurie, Dinesh, and Gilfoyle. Meanwhile, Jared does what he can to keep everything under control, while Big Head keeps stumbling on his way to success. On the other hand, Jian-Yang demonstrates that he is willing to do whatever it takes in to make money at a faster pace.
