HBO makes history with 44 primetime Emmy® Awards

Game of Thrones LEADS PROGRAMMING WITH RECORD BREAKING 12 EMMYS®

MIAMI, FL, September 21, 2015 – HBO broke records this past Sunday at the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy® Awards competition with an outstanding 44 wins, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series. For the 14th year in a row, HBO received the most wins of any other network, and the most in HBO history. The global phenomenon, Game of Thrones led all programming with 12 Emmys®, a record for a series in one year since 2000; while the miniseries Olive Kitteridge received 8 Emmys®, the second-most of any program this year.

HBO’s Emmy® wins this year include:

12 Emmys® for Game of Thrones, including Outstanding Drama Series; Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Peter Dinklage); Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series (David Benioff and D.B. Weiss); Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (David Nutter for “Mother’s Mercy); Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series.

8 Emmys® for Olive Kitteridge, including Outstanding Miniseries; Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie (Richard Jenkins); Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie (Francis McDormand); Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie (Bill Murray); Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special.

5 Emmys® for Veep, including Outstanding Comedy Series; Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Julia Louis-Dreyfus); Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Tony Hale); Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series.

4 Emmys® for Bessie, including Outstanding Television Movie; Outstanding Music Composition for Limited Series, Movie or Special; Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Limited Series, Movie or Special; Outstanding Cinematography for a Limited Series or Movie.

2 Emmys® for Boardwalk Empire, for: Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series and Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Period Program.
