HBO ends the year with spectacular movie premieres every Saturday

tfa_poster_wide_header-1536x864-959818851016MIAMI, FL, October 31, 2016 – HBO offers its audiences the best Hollywood movie premieres from the four largest film studios worldwide – Warner Bros., Disney, Sony Pictures, and Universal – every Saturday night at 10PM during November and December. Viewers throughout the entire region will be able to enjoy a variety of movies that will make them laugh, cry, tremble and even believe, beginning with the exclusive television premiere of the popular Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The following films will premiere through the end of the year, exclusively on HBO:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – November 5th: Thirty years after the Empire’s defeat, the galaxy faces a new threat. Nominated for five Oscar® Awards and with over $2 billion dollars in box-office sales around the world, the seventh episode of this saga is a unique cinematic experience that brings together not only the main actors from the first film, but also a great cast including: Harrison Ford (Han Solo); Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker); Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia); Adam Driver (from the HBO series Girls) as Kylo Ren; Oscar® winner, Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata); Daisy Ridley (Rey); John Boyega (Finn); and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron).

Black Mass – November 12th: Starring Johnny Deep (Pirates of the Caribbean), Kevin Bacon (Footloose), Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) and Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey), Black Mass is based on the true story of the most infamous and violent criminal in the history of South Boston who became an FBI informant to bring down a mafia family. This biographical drama is directed by Scott Cooper.

Zootopia – November 19th: From the creators of Disney’s Tangled and Wreck It Ralph comes this fun animated film, written and directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore, about a city inhabited by animals (where humans don’t exist) where a rookie rabbit police officer and a cynical con-artist fox must work together to uncover a conspiracy. Disney’s Zootopia includes the participation of Shakira voicing Gazelle, in Spanish and English, along with Idris Elba (HBO’s The Wire) as the boss, Bogo.

The Intern – November 26th: Directed by Nancy Meyers and with performances by Robert De Niro, Anne Hathaway and Rene Russo, The Intern tells the poignant yet funny story of Ben, a 70 year old widower who is bored with his life as a retired man and begins working as an intern at an online fashion company. His boss, Jules Ostin, a young, demanding and dynamic workaholic, has no intentions on giving him any tasks to complete, however, Ben demonstrates that he is not only very capable, but that he is also a source of support and wisdom for her.

The 5th Wave – December 3rd: After four waves of alien attacks, each deadlier than the last, have destroyed a large part of the Earth, Cassie finds herself in a desperate attempt to flee in order to save her younger brother. Along the way, she meets a man that could become their last hope, if only she could trust him. Starring Chloë Grace Mortez, the film is directed by J Blakeson.

Risen – December 10th: In the year 33 AD, a Roman tribune is assigned to find the body of a Jewish man that is rumored to have risen from the dead. Written and directed by Kevin Reynolds along with Paul Aiello, Risen tells the biblical story of the Resurrection through the eyes of a non-believer, Clavius, a powerful Roman soldier and his aide, Lucius. Together, they must solve the mystery of what happened after the crucifixion of Jesus and put an end to the rumors of a resurrected messiah. The film stars Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love) and Tom Felton (Harry Potter).

The Jungle Book – December 17th: Almost 50 years after its first stint on the big screen, Walt Disney Pictures presents the live action remake of the classic film, The Jungle Book. With a one of a kind cast whose voices bring to life these known characters, this film for the entire family chronicles the adventure of Mowgli, the “man cub” who must face the dangers of the forest after the tiger, Shere Khan threatens his village. Guided by the panther, Bagheera, and the bear, Baloo, Mowgli also sets out on a path of self-discovery. The all-star cast includes the voices of Idris Elba (HBO’s The Wire), Ben Kingsley (Shindler’s List), Bill Murray (Ghost Busters), Scarlett Johansson (Avengers) as Kaa and Oscar® winner, Lupita Nyong’o (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Raksha.

Krampus – December 24th: A boy who isn’t having a good Christmas accidentally unleashes a demonic spirit. Krampus is the ancestral evil force that punishes the unbelievers, turning Christmas icons into monsters, and dragging them to Hell. Starring Adam Scott (Stepbrothers) and Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine), this comedy horror film is the perfect lesson in why you should keep the Christmas spirit alive.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 – December 31st: Parenting and marriage is becoming tougher and tougher for Toula and her husband Ian, whose daughter is considering attending college away from home. To add, the Portokalos must now plan an even bigger Greek wedding for their parents when they realize that they were never legally married. The original cast including Nia Vardalos and Josh Corbett return for the second installment of the fun family film.
