Happy New Year from the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands

As we welcome in the new year we’ve taken the opportunity to pause and look back through the past twelve months.

Between extreme weather, landfill fires and the ongoing challenges brought by the pandemic, there is no doubt that 2021 was a year to remember and while we began with fully normal operations, we closed in a hybrid situation to ensure the safety of staff and visitors.

Yet the evolving situation has helped us to continue to adapt and adapt our operations and programmes in an effort to be responsive and relevant in these challenging times.

The many exhibitions, events and activities – both on-site and online – which we hosted to showcase Caymanian art and culture have taken an enormous team effort of staff, board, artists, volunteers, supporters, members, students and public.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to each and everyone of you.

From all of us at NGCI, we wish you a very Happy New Year and hope to see you on-site soon!
