Guyana: Dying man who identified himself with his last breath, still unidentified?

By Shavina Gopaul From Guyana Guardian

A Sophia resident who was allegedly struck down by a motor vehicle in Berbice, and who give the police his full and address mere minutes before he took his last breath, must have probably misidentified his own self.

This seems to be so, since even though the Police are armed with the name and address information that he had provided, they still cannot locate any of his relatives or anyone who seems to have known him from the community in which he said he was living at the time of his demise.

According to the police, the man, who is of African descent, and who had identified himself to them as Godfrey Wayne Gomes of ‘C’ Field Sophia, Georgetown was discovered on the #61 Public Road Corentyne, Berbice, last week Monday 4 February, after being struck down by a motor vehicle.

However, though he was able to tell them his name and address, the police are uncertain as to how he ended up at that location or what were the actual particulars that led to his demise.

His body is currently at the New Amsterdam Mortuary, and the police are asking anyone with information that can lead to locating the relatives of the now dead man, to contact them at; 333-3501, 333-3502, 333-2151 or 333-2153655SHARED THIS
