From RCIPS Sun May 4 2014

Between the hours of 12 midnight to 2am March  4th GT uniform officers carried out focused patrols and static presence on Shedden road vicinity of Nevlaw building, George Town.

This focus included conducting road checks, where several persons were breath tested and one person arrested for DUI. Persons were also prosecuted for traffic offences as well as persons were stopped and searched in accordance with the police and drugs laws.

District Commander Chief Inspector Angelique Howell said,” these focuses will continue as we have been receiving a few reports of street robberies and thefts in that area”. The Chief Inspector also reiterate that persons attending illegal sessions within the area and then getting robbed either going to or from these sessions need to put a little more concern towards their personal safety as the police can’t be everywhere everytime to protect you.

Anyone who may have information on crime taking place in this area or who may be committing these street crimes are being asked to contact any of the police stations or Crimestoppers at 800(TIPS) 8477 or RCIP hotline at 9497777.
