Forest warriors needed for Miss Earth title

“Forest Warriors” is the theme for this year’s Miss Earth pageant, described as “An annual international showcase promoting environmental awareness.” Daniel Bodden of N’Vogue Productions, is looking for contestants to take part in the local Miss Earth Pageant. Contestants will be meeting on Sunday 4 March at the Grand Pavilion in George Town at 4pm, Mr. Bodden says.

“They’re going to be doing a ‘meet-and-greet’ session, and signing up for the pageant.  There is also going to be preparation for other different activities such as modeling, as there will be modeling part to the show. There is also talent section – so we are looking for ladies who can sing and dance too,” he added. Other sections of the show are Casual Wear, Swimwear, Evening Gown, and Question and Answer.

“The ladies must be aged between 15 and 30, single, and ideally would be a high school graduate, or have a bachelor’s degree, because there is a grand prize consisting of a US$10,000 scholarship,” Mr. Bodden said.

“There will be other prizes too. Other benefits of taking part in the show, which is scheduled for 30 June, include training in etiquette, posture, how to eat, walking the catwalk, and applying makeup.”

“The contestant who wins the title of Miss Earth Cayman Islands, will be flying off to the Philippines for the international Miss Earth show, featuring contestants from all round the world, around July or August.” Mr. Bodden addded.

All proceeds of Miss Earth Cayman Islands will go towards the Cayman Islands AIDS Foundation.
