Experienced Caymanian named Head of Youth Services

Mrs. Mellony Bryan-Waugh

Grand Cayman, 08 September 2022 – The Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage (MYSCH) is pleased to welcome Mrs. Mellony Bryan-Waugh as the new Head of the Youth Services Unit (YSU).
                Mrs. Bryan-Waugh has had an extensive career as an educator and intervention services specialist. A teacher by profession, Mrs. Bryan-Waugh has spent nearly three decades working with young people in the classroom as a senior school leader, programme facilitator and adult training specialist. She also possesses multiple qualifications in the field of Education, including a Postgraduate Diploma of Education from the University of the West Indies and a Masters of Arts in Education from the University of Warwick.

               “Mrs. Bryan-Waugh comes with a wealth of qualifications and experience, and displays significant passion for youth empowerment and development. The Ministry looks forward to the transformation, development and intergenerational approach that the YSU team will offer under Mrs. Bryan-Waugh’s leadership”, said Chief Officer Teresa Echenique.
               Mrs. Bryan-Waugh thanked the Ministry for their warm welcome saying “I am excited to take on the challenge to develop, enhance and strengthen our youth services, and by extension our community. I share the Ministry’s vision to empower Cayman’s young people and look forward to executing that vision alongside my colleagues at YSU.”
                Mrs. Bryan-Waugh assumed her duties on 8 August 2022.
