Elections – Last time to register is Jan 2

From the Cayman Islands Elections Office

The Elections Office wishes to urge all eligible persons who wish to register to vote in the May 2013 General Elections to make every effort to grasp the opportunity to do so now as time is running out.  The final date for registration is January 2nd, 2013.  Registering Officers will be available until midnight on that date and the Elections Office will have a registration station downstairs in the lobby of the Smith Road Centre (150 Smith Road) also open until midnight.

For those electors who have changed their names, occupations or street addresses since being registered this is the final opportunity to complete a Form 13 to update their particulars.  Also, for those who have changed districts, this is the final call to ensure that they are registered in the correct electoral district.

This is a reminder that persons who have Caymanian Status and have not been naturalized, but are otherwise qualified, may register to vote.  Naturalization is not a prerequisite to qualify.

In order to further accommodate all those who may wish to register, the Elections Office will maintain a registration station downstairs in the lobby of the Smith Road Centre on Saturday 29th December, 2012 between the hours of 10:00 A.M thru 4:00 P.M.

The Registering Officer for Cayman Brac and Little Cayman will be at Brac Executive Services from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 midnight on January 2nd, 2013.

Please note that our office will be closed on Monday December 31st, 2012 and Tuesday January 1st, 2013.

SEASONS GREETING TO ALL.
