UPDATE – time change -ECLAC will present in Mexico its Economic Survey of Latin America and the Caribbean 2018

The document, which will provide updated growth projections for the region’s countries, will be released by the organization’s executive secretary, Alicia Bárcena, on Thursday, August 23.

What: The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will present its annual report Economic Survey of Latin America and the Caribbean 2018 via videoconference.

When:  Thursday 23 August 2018 at 12 noon Port of Spain time.

Where: ECLAC subregional headquarters for the Caribbean, 1 Chancery Lane, Port of Spain.

Background: The report will provide updated economic growth projections for the countries of the region. The Economic Survey of Latin America and the Caribbean is one of ECLAC’s annual publications with the longest tradition. Published since 1948, it analyzes the region’s economic performance during the first half of the year and lays out the prospects for the coming months.

In addition, in the 2018 edition, the thematic chapters of the Economic Survey will be centered on analyzing the evolution of investment in Latin America and the Caribbean between 1995 and 2017, with its stylized facts, main determinants and policy challenges.

The launch will also be transmitted live via the Internet on ECLAC’s website (www.cepal.org).
