ECLAC reviews work of Planning Council in Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) Experts of 17 countries meeting at the Hotel Sheraton of this capital, review in a seminar today the high level of Territorialization of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development in the region.
Among participants are ministers, deputy ministers and other high officials of government institutions of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Grenada, Guatemala, Jamaica, Honduras, Panama, Peru, St. Lucia, Uruguay and the hosting nation.

This Thursday, activities will be headed by Peruvian Javier Abugattas, as president of the Directive Board of the Regional Council on Planning, who will examine first the state of progress of the resolutions approved in the previous meeting in Lima, Peru.

After that, participants will debate on progress of the Regional Observatory of Planning for Development of Latin America and the Caribbean, results of the Plan barometer and follow-up by Eclac of the Agenda of Action of Addis Abeba of the Third Conference on financing for planning processes.

The 27th meeting of the Directive Table of the Regional Council of Planning of the Latin America and Caribbean Institute of Economic and Social Planning of the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (Eclac), reviews the work done in the Dominican Republic.

Lastly, the director of the Institute, Cielo Morales, will elaborate on Territorial Development in Latin America and the Caribbean: challenges for the implementation of Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, on which some reports will be discussed, considerations and agreements of the meeting.
