Dolphin Discovery Grand Cayman Celebrates 5th Anniversary

6 Flags 1Launches contest to name first dolphin born in this dolphinarium’s “Miracle” reproduction program

Cayman Islands, December 16th 2013 – Dolphin Discovery Grand Cayman celebrated its 5th Anniversary of operations in the island with a cocktail reception on December 15. The event took place at Dolphin Discovery Grand Cayman’s facility and was attended by Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA), Department of Tourism (DOT), local businesses, government staff, media and families.  During the course of the afternoon, Dolphin Discovery started their newest campaign; “Name our Baby Dolphin”, in which students across the island will have the Punta Maromaopportunity to enter a contest to name the first Dolphin born in Grand Cayman as a result of the Group’s human breeding program.

The contest will run from December 16th to January 12th; children between the ages of 4 to 7 years old must submit a name for the Dolphin followed by a short story relevant to the name and a drawing of a Dolphin. The first prize winner will receive 1 year of swimming with dolphins for two people in any of the 13 Dolphin Discovery Group locations, among other prizes for the best stories, including a 2 night stay at the Marriott and $100CI for Grand Old House. The 5 finalists will be posted on Dolphin Discovery’s 6 Flags AnnivFacebook page from January 13th to the 17th where the public will vote for their favorite name.
