A tourist from Texas has died after getting into difficulties following a dive near the Kittiwake wreck.

The 54 year old man was with a family member and out diving with Don Fosters when he became unconscious after returning to the surface.

Paramedics took the man to hospital but he was pronounced dead when he arrived.

A spokesman for the RCIPS said: “At 3:25 pm Wednesday 911 received a report that an unconscious male diver had been taken aboard the vessel Cayman Sky, which was in the vicinity of the Kittiwake Dive Site.

“The 54 year old diver was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Enquires into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced by detectives in West Bay.”
