Mobile download speeds of over 100 mbps

Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) has become the first operator to launch Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile data services in the Cayman Islands.

The new service is the latest benefit from a programme of network upgrades across CWC’s Caribbean and Latin American business to reinforce its position as the leading data provider in the region.

The new service from LIME, the company’s Caribbean business, is capable of download speeds of over 100 megabits per second (mbps).

LIME’s LTE mobile data network, which was installed by Ericsson, provides 100% coverage across the Cayman Islands.

Customers can click on a website and it will open immediately, stream a High Definition video without buffering and use an LTE portable WiFi device and surf at the beach with up to 10 friends connected simultaneously. The freedom 4G LTE brings is immense.”
