Coalition for Cayman to hold first meeting Monday night (19)

The newly formed political group calling themselves Coalition for Cayman are holding their first countrywide meeting on Monday 19th at 7pm at A.L. Thompsons Parking Lot on North Sound Road, by the Butterfield Roundabout, on Monday 19th.

On their website (www.coalitionforcayman.ky), they say:

Coalition for Cayman is a public awareness effort with the single goal of setting our country on the right path. That means electing honest, independent leaders who will always put Country First. We expect that our Coalition will threaten the partisan politicians, so before they begin spreading mistruths, we want to give you the facts about our effort:
Q: What is the Coalition for Cayman?
A: As an advocacy group for good government, Coalition for Cayman wants to protect the way of life that Caymanians hold so dear, and return responsible government to the Cayman Islands. The Coalition for Cayman is committed to promoting independent leadership – free of political ties – that can be trusted to ALWAYS do what’s best for the people. We call this way of thinking Country First.
Q: Is this a new political party?
A: No, Coalition for Cayman is an advocacy group working to rid our country of political partisanship. Our nation thrived under independent leadership, and only since the introduction of political parties have we stumbled. It’s time to get back to the Country First style of leadership that helped build us into one of the strongest countries in the world.
Q: Will the Coalition be fielding candidates in next year’s election?
A: No. Since we are not a political party we will not field candidates. But as a public awareness group dedicated to leaders who put the best interest of our Country First, we will be interviewing independent candidates and making endorsements of those candidates we feel will put Country First when making important decisions.

The Coalition Vision

We are a public awareness and advocacy group who recognize the people of Cayman are frustrated with party politics, government overspending, debt, crime and economic uncertainty. We are committed to bringing new and accountable leadership to unite the people of the country and restore the Cayman Islands’ reputation while maintaining social balance and sustainable growth.
