The U.S. House of Representatives will not vote to select a new speaker on Wednesday, CNN reported, citing an unnamed source.

Republicans who control the U.S. House earlier on Wednesday nominated Steve Scalise to serve as speaker following last week’s ouster of Kevin McCarthy, although it was unclear whether Scalise had enough support to win a vote of the full chamber.
