CAYMAN ISLANDS, Grand Cayman – More than 175 cubic yards of trash and waste were removed from North Side over the weekend in the run up to the Christmas holidays.
Edward Chisholm, a Progressive’s candidate for Member of the Legislative Assembly in the May 2017 election in North Side, spearheaded the clean-up.

ed-chisholm“This clean-up, as well as my candidacy in the district, is about unifying all of us who call North Side home,” said Mr. Chisholm. “I appreciate all who participated in this clean-up and encourage those who missed out on this opportunity to work with Government when it does its official clean-up.”

Items collected from roadsides and peoples’ yards included old tube televisions, clothes washers and dryers, air conditioner units, refrigerators, bedding and ed-chisholm-sean-moyleeven kitchen sinks. It was an early effort to help North Side residents get their homes and yards cleaned up for Christmas. The government effort will commence soon.

“We were more than happy to help,” said Jason Brown of IWC. “While this is our business, we always welcome and appreciate the opportunity to help out our fellow man.”
While the weekend clean-up has concluded, Mr. Chisholm has now turned his attention to helping North Siders get rid of derelict vehicles.

“It’s a big task to take on,” said Mr. Chisholm. “But it is one that I think is necessary and will help reunite our community.”
