William GammerdingerAt an extraordinary general meeting for members of the Professional & Finance Employee sector of the Chamber Pension Plan, they elected their industry sector’s new volunteer Trustee, Mr William (Bill) Gammerdinger.

Mr Gammerdinger, a treasury and finance professional, has accumulated tremendous expertise working for Transocean Ltd for over 30 years, having become Vice President and Treasurer of Transocean’s Cayman subsidiary Transocean Inc in 2009. He now holds the position as Chairman of the bank’s Investment Committee which has investment oversight for several pension plans with total assets of about US$1.5 billion.

Mr Gammerdinger said that he is delighted to be volunteering on the Chamber Pension Plan’s Board of Trustees. He replaces a trustee that recently stepped down due to personal and work conflicts of interest.

“It’s a great honour to be elected by the Plan’s members to work alongside the other trustees. I have already become acquainted with several trustees and am greatly impressed with their commitment and dedication,” he said. “I’m very much looking forward to this new role to help ensure the continued smooth running of the Plan as we move forward.”

Chamber Pension Plan Chairman Eduardo D’Angelo P. Silva is equally pleased at the appointment of Mr Gammerdinger.

“The fact that Bill has had such an incredible amount of experience means we are able to fully embrace that experience and put it to good use for our members at the Chamber Pension Plan,” he said. “We are extremely fortunate to have a professional of Bill’s calibre on our team and we are very grateful to him for agreeing to share his expertise with us. We look forward to working with Bill in the months and years ahead.”
