When two young girls were barred from boarding a United Airlines flight because they were wearing leggings (an apparent dress code violation on the airline), the internet went nuts.

Activist Shannon Watts first tweeted about the situation on Sunday morning, and since then, everyone from Chrissy Teigen to William Shatner weighed in on leggings-gate with hilarious and insightful remarks.

I have flown united before with literally no pants on. Just a top as a dress. Next time I will wear only jeans and a scarf. – christine teigen

We here at @united are just trying to police the attire of the daughters of our employees! That’s all! Cool, right? –Seth Rogen

Duly noted, @united… Still, the punitive measures taken are not a good look! – LeVar Burton

United Airlines making women wear a dress over their leggings is the equivalent of them making males wear a snuggie over their sweatpants – Ryan Broems

Despite all this star power on Twitter, the airline hasn’t backed down regarding its dress code policy.
