UPDATE: Pedestrian Succumbed to Injuries in Lower Valley Collision

Yesterday, Friday 27 November, at approximately 7:15PM, officers were informed that the pedestrian involved in the collision that took place on Thursday 26 November, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by the attending doctor at the hospital. 

The RCIPS Traffic & Roads Policing Unit is appealing for witnesses to this collision, now a fatal investigation, which occurred on Shamrock Road, in the vicinity of Woodland Drive, just before 5:50AM on Thursday morning, 26 November (see below).

Just before 5:50AM today, Thursday 26 November, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a vehicle collision along Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Woodland Drive, involving a pedestrian. 

The pedestrian involved in the collision has been transported by ambulance to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment and is believed to be in serious condition at this time. 

The area of Shamrock Road where the collision occurred is currently closed as Traffic and Road Policing officers are currently on scene carrying out investigations. As a result, traffic coming from the Eastern Districts are being diverted through Agricola Drive unto Daniel’s Drive.

The RCIPS thanks the public for their cooperation and apologise for any inconveniences caused. The public can expect an update once the road way is reopened.

Shamrock Road has now been cleared and reopened for public use. The RCIPS thanks the public once again for their cooperation.
