On Wednesday, 19 February, officers arrested a 17-year-old male of North Side on suspicion of robbery and taking conveyance without authority, in relation to the robbery which took place on Saturday morning, 8 February (see below). He has been granted bail as investigations continue.

Robbery on West Bay Road, 8 February

Shortly before 2:30 this morning, 8 February, officers responded to a report of a robbery on West Bay Road just south of Gecko Link. A man had been walking when he was approached by two males dressed in dark clothing who robbed him of cash and personal items before fleeing the scene in a dark pickup truck, which travelled towards West Bay.

No weapons were used in the incident and the victim was uninjured.

The matter is currently under investigation and anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time or who may have any other information is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
