Cayman: Structure Fire in Hirst Road, 3 November -UPDATE

Roadway Now Open

Further to the below press release Hirst Road has now been cleared and is open to the public. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident. Enquires are being conducted to establish the cause of the fire.

Police and other emergency services have been dispatched to a structural fire on Hirst Road, near the junction of Rex Crighton Boulevard. As a result of the fire on Hirst Road, the roadway has been closed to the public while the CIFS works to extinguish the fire.

Vehicles travelling on Hirst Road heading to Shamrock Road, are being diverted to Rex Crighton Boulevard (East West Arterial Bypass). Vehicles heading into Hirst Road from Shamrock Road are being asked to continue on Shamrock and travel through Spotts Newlands Road if necessary.

The RCIPS encourages all road users to avoid the area if possible.
