Cayman: Police arrest man in vehicle that matches description of vehicle used in recent robberies

From RCIPS

Arrested man

Since the recent spate of armed robberies, police have been undertaking targeted operations focused on locating and apprehending those involved, and suppressing further robberies.

Last night, Friday 10 November, police identified a Honda Fit that matched the description of a vehicle linked with the recent armed robberies, carrying plates not registered to the vehicle – a common practice amongst criminals.  The vehicle had also previously been reported stolen in September, 2023.

The vehicle was followed and stopped by police units including the Firearms Response Unit, on Rock Hole Road, George Town.  A 43 year-old-man, from George Town was arrested for traffic offences.

The community can expect to see increased police presence on the roads, including vehicle check points as efforts continue to locate and apprehend those involved in recent incidents of serious crime on Grand Cayman.

The RCIPS appreciate the communities support as we work together to keep the Cayman Islands safe.
