Cayman: Notice re- St. George’s Sunday Services COVID-19 precautions

St George’s Anglican Church

As you are aware, regulations put in place by the Cayman Islands Government on Friday, 13 March 2020 prohibit the assembly of 50 or more persons in a public place in order to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

As a result, the following changes have been put in place effective tomorrow, Sunday, 15 March:

1.       7:00 a.m. Mass will be held as usual, as this service does not normally exceed 49 persons.

2.       9:00 a.m. Mass will be live streamed via Facebook. You can access the service via this link: https://www.facebook.com/stgeorgescayman. If you regularly worship at 9:00 a.m. we encourage you to worship via this medium to ensure that we do not exceed the permitted number of 49.

3.       Persons who fall into the high-risk groups because of age or medical conditions, or who interact with such persons, are strongly encouraged to stay home at this time and to join us in worship via Facebook.

4.       To ensure that we are not in breach of the law, the ushers will be monitoring the numbers at each service.

Please keep safe and follow all Public Health guidance. If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms we encourage you to call the Flu Hotline at 1-800-534-8600 or 947-3077.

As the people of God, I encourage us to uphold each other and our islands in prayer during this challenging time. May the love of God continue to calm and strengthen us as we grow in faith through this challenging time.

Yours in Christ,

Father Jerome
