Cayman Islands Taste of Cayman celebrates 30 years

In its 30 years, Taste of Cayman has grown from humble beginnings to become Cayman’s largest culinary celebration.

A group of restaurants from the Cayman Islands Restaurant Association meeting in a field for a chili cook off is now over 45 restaurants, over 5,000 attendees, multiple competitions and over 18,000 portions of food enjoyed.

Taste of Cayman 2018 aims to celebrate the 30th Anniversary and rich culinary heritage of Cayman in many ways.

Early Bird tickets are now available online for Taste of Cayman Food and Drink Festival 2018 as the event celebrates its 30th anniversary.

The Cayman Islands’ biggest food festival will take place on Saturday, January 27th at the Festival Green, Camana Bay from 5pm until 11.45pm, featuring offerings from Cayman’s top restaurants and liquor vendors, as well as the annual Mixology and Heavy Cake competitions, live entertainment, a kids zone and the VIP area.

Tiffany Dixon-Ebanks, Executive Director of CITA said, “With last year’s added elements, including the VIP area, kids zone and the Experience Room, Taste of Cayman Food and Drink Festival is continuously evolving to be bigger and better each year.  As we celebrate our 30th event, we have no doubt it will be the best yet.”

Spanning three decades, the Taste of Cayman Food and Drink Festival is the Cayman Islands Tourism Association’s largest annual fundraiser and one of Cayman’s longest running and most heavily attended events and has been held at Camana Bay for ten years.

“As we celebrate a decade of Camana Bay, it’s fitting that in January 2018 Taste of Cayman also celebrates its 10th anniversary at Camana Bay. We’ve been a proud sponsor since 2009 and have seen the event grow with the Town Centre, eventually moving to its current home on the Festival Green,” said Joanne Gammage, Senior Brand Manager, Dart Real Estate

Early Bird tickets are now available on the event website (tasteofcayman.org/tickets), for only $35, until December 1, 2017. The Early Bird ticket comes with 12 food and drink tickets to use on the night. Child tickets (ages 5-13) are available online now at $20.

VIP tickets are also for sale online, following the success of the newly introduced VIP area last year. As well as express entry to the event and 25 food and drink tickets, for $150, VIPs will also receive access to priority parking, an exclusive air conditioned hospitality tent, welcome drinks and canapés and experience room vouchers.

Taste of Cayman 2018 is proudly sponsored by Camana Bay, AI Rentals, Tower, Digicel, Cayman Airways and Island Heritage, among others.
