PFL/GPFL Playoffs: Fourth Round Review

Schools seal semi final berths

Excitement was in the air at the Annex Field this past Saturday as the 2015/2016 CUC Primary Football League (PFL) and Girls’ Primary Football League (GPFL) Playoffs continued with the fourth and final round of games to see which schools would secure a berth in the semi finals.

With some schools already guaranteed a place in the semi finals, which are scheduled for this Saturday, January 23, and some fighting for the remaining spots, tensions were running high with players, coaches and parents alike all very nervous.

For those schools already eliminated, it was a chance for them to play the role of ‘spoilers’ for the schools still in with a chance of playing in the semi finals.

PFL Under 9 Consolation Cup:
In the PFL Under 9 Consolation Cup, George Town Primary had the chance to knock off an undefeated Triple C team and claim top spot in the standings and with it, an automatic spot in the Final in two weeks time. Unfortunately, Kane Watson and his team mates had other ideas as young Watson sealed a 1-0 victory for the Crusaders and an automatic berth in the Final.
