Cayman Islands: Live Summer Camps at Camana Bay

Further to our e-mail detailing our summer sports camp programme, please note we have just learned that US-based basketball player Gary Harris is unable to attend the Camana Bay Basketball Camp due to a recent request by the NBA. We are considering alternatives at this time and will continue to keep you updated.

Live Summer Camps at Camana Bay

It’s that time of year again, when the kids are out of school and looking for things to do on Grand Cayman. Starting in July, Camana Bay is the venue for a number of camps with options for every age group and interest.

Cayman Music School will start the summer off with music, dance and all things art. The camp is open to children ages five to 12 who want to spend their summer studying drama and performing on stage, perfecting their vocals or getting creative with arts and crafts. The camp runs every weekday in July!

Picture This Studios will be hosting its Shutterbugs Summer Camp for children ages eight to 16 who want to learn the secrets of taking great pics and how to care for their camera, or simply hone their photographic skills. This camp runs in July and August.

If cooking and becoming the next Junior Master Chef is your dream, then put your cooking skills to the test with Bon Vivant’s Budding Chef Summer Culinary Camps running through July. Classes are separated into two age groups to inspire young chefs – whether they are kids ages four to seven or tweens ages eight to 12 – to be thoughtful about what they eat, learn basic cooking concepts and skills and create delicious and nutritious dishes.

Starfish Village will have its summer camps available for children ages three to 12 starting July 4 and ending August 4. The camp introduces a new theme each week including STEM, Time Travellers, Mission Impossible, Amazing Race, Starfish Camp Got Talent and Young Chefs.

If your children are more into getting active this summer, the Multi-Sport Camp hosted by Camana Bay might be right up their alley. Starting Tuesday, July 3, this camp gives young athletes of all levels a chance to get active and improve their skills, all while having a blast. Campers will be exposed to a variety of sports such as volleyball, basketball, tennis, swimming, football and more. Open to kids ages seven to 14.

The Annual Basketball Camp is back for its 10th year from Monday July 23 to Friday July 27 for ages seven to 12 and 12 to 17. Those who dream of one day playing in the NBA and becoming a professional basketball player will not only get the training they need to improve their skills but also the opportunity to meet and get pointers from NBA star, Gary Harris who plays for the Denver Nuggets. Gary was recently asked how he felt about coming to the Cayman Islands to help teach and work with the island’s young basketball stars: “You get to go and help grow the game of basketball. I am really looking forward to getting down there. I think it’s going to be a great time.”

This summer, if your children are looking for things to do on Grand Cayman, bring them to Camana Bay to take part in one of the many fun summer camps available. For more details visit, camanabay.com/summer.
