Cayman Islands: Itinerary to organise Sustainable Sister Island Organisation

cayman-brac-bluffoasis-land-developmentFrom Kathleen Bodden-Harris

This past week, our meeting to organise & set an itinerary for our recycling campaign convened. The following schedule has been laid out to proceed w/our project to get Cayman Brac Beaches, Roads, Community & Marine Parks cleaned up & demonstrate to our government that the community of Cayman Brac & our sister island Little Cayman want action to bring about recycling & sustainable, environmentally focused lifestyles. A push this coming weekend at the Little Cayman Agriculture Show will update our Little Cayman residents to our call to action & consider becoming part of our plan. This is a Grass Roots Programme not affiliated with any organisation or governmental office-just concerned citizens who wish to take action to get the wheel greased. All are welcome however! We’re looking to see what you’re willing to do to help- i.e. picking up trash on the beaches, roadsides or underwater, helping to establish recycling habits for work place, schools, churches, clubs, organisational help, etc. This effort will require teaching a lot of ‘old dogs new tricks + the young pups as well’. Please look over the itinerary below & consider what type or amount of involvement your interested in putting forth. Many of the addressees are part time residents-this is a courtesy to let you know what’s upcoming so you can make plans to contact when you return & let us know if you wish to be active in our monthly plans. If you don’t wish to be on our mailing list, please respond to [email protected] to have your name/address removed. Should you have any questions, please contact me in the same manner.

Please look over the itinerary & mark your calendars for upcoming events you can schedule to attend & participate.
