Cayman Islands: Devonia Dixon earns Chief Officer’s praise

IMG_1972For her great customer service skills and dedication to her duties in registering companies, partnerships and trusts, Ms Devonia Dixon has received the Chief Officer’s award for April as the top employee for the Ministry of Financial Services, Commerce and the Environment.

Ms Dixon, a Customer Services Officer for General Registry, was presented with her certificate on 11 June. The honour is part of the Deputy Governor’s Award scheme for all civil servants.

The Ministry’s Chief Officer Dr Dax Basdeo said Ms Dixon has made valuable contributions by conscientiously working with customers on their registration needs.

‘The Ministry is constantly striving to accomplish policy goals, and so there is no shortage of high achievers within the various departments,’ he said.

‘However, out of all the candidates put forward to me, Ms Dixon stood out the most for the month of April.

‘She greatly assists General Registry with maintaining accurate records, which helps the public to have a good experience with Government. Commendations certainly are in order for her’.

In addition to her registration work and answering customer queries, Ms Dixon processes tasks on the Cayman Online Registry Information Service and prepares documents for internal certification. She says assistance from her colleagues is vital to her success.

‘Receiving this award was a wonderful surprise, and I am overwhelmed with joy to be recognised for my hard work,’ Ms Dixon said. ‘I love my job and what I do. I thank my co-workers and especially my supervisor Assistant Registrar Evadne Ebanks, who continually encourages me and taught me to improve my work ethic’.

Registrar General Cindy Jefferson-Bulgin said she nominated Ms Dixon because of her ability to exceed expectations.

‘Devonia joined Registry in 2006, and for her to get this award comes as no surprise given that she consistently performs at a high standard. She is diligent, self-motivated, committed, and a good team player.

‘All of these qualities make a big difference when dealing with clients who boost the economy through their significant contributions to Government revenue. I congratulate Devonia on her achievement and encourage her to continue performing in an exemplary manner’.
