The International College of the Cayman Islands (ICCI) is proud to announce it has been approved as a chapter of Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society recognizing and promoting achievement in business, management, and administration. ICCI students with high academic achievement in eligible degree programs will receive an invitation for a lifetime membership to include on their resume and gain networking and career guidance opportunities.

“ICCI is committed to the highest standards of leadership, academic excellence and business education and is focused on developing leaders for Cayman and beyond,” said ICCI’s President, Dr. David Marshall. “The addition of the Sigma Beta Delta chapter provides a great opportunity to acknowledge and reward students who model excellence in academic achievement, ethical decision making and community service. All of these attributes are needed to help our graduates become top contributors to the country’s workforce.”

Once accepted for membership, inducted students receive a certificate, lapel pin, window decal, one year subscription to Bloomberg Businessweek, discounts through national vendor partners as well as fellowship awards and internships opportunities.

Sigma Beta Delta was created in 1994 as a business honor society for accredited institutions that offer baccalaureate and graduate degrees in business, management, and administration. Since that time, Sigma Beta Delta has established over 425 chapters in 45 states and internationally while inducting over 85,000 members. ICCI students will be eligible for nomination by faculty. Bachelor’s and master’s degree students who rank in the upper 20% of their class upon completion of at least half of their chosen degree program may be inducted.

Officials from Sigma Beta Delta will travel to Cayman in June from the U.S. to conduct the formal induction ceremony where top ranking students will be recognized and become official members of the honor society.

“Being selected as a new chapter member of Sigma Beta Delta is a testament to the importance we place on academic quality and provides another opportunity for us to recognize the accomplishments of some of our top performing students in business and management,” says Marshall.
