Rick Gomez and other cast and crew will be here for a Q&A following the screening!

Movie “The Week” to Premiere at CayFilm Cayman International Film Festival

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands – Dick Romans is a washed up TV host whose wife leaves him on the day before their ten year anniversary celebration. Alone with his thoughts, his dog, and a ton of booze, Dick decides to go through with the week-long party…by himself. The seven event-filled days become Dick’s reluctant vision quest, filled with odd characters, awkward romance, and some long-overdue self-examination.

This is the plot for “The Week”, a comedy that will premiere at the CayFilm Cayman International Film Festival on Friday, 19 June at Regal Cinemas, Camana Bay.

The movie is written, directed and produced by John Mann, Jon Gunn and Rick Gomez and stars include Rick Gomez, Joelle Carter, Richard Speight Jr, Amanda Detmer, Joshua Gomez, James Madio, Reno Wilson, M.C. Gainey and
Frank John Hughes.

“The Week is a passion project conceived and produced in a unique, organic way,” the directors explain. “Having found festival success with our award-winning short Pissing Vocal Gold, we wanted to delve into a feature length project but conflicting schedules didn’t afford the time for traditional story development and screenwriting…so we skipped that part and just started shooting. We created a character and a setting, and as a cast and crew of three, we found our story as we told it. Over the next eight months as we shot, edited, revised and refined, we added crew and cast to help take us where the story wanted to go.”
