Cayman Islands 2015 National Heroes Day Awards Health Services

Minister Osbourne Bodden, is announcing to the public the nomination period for National Heroes Day 2015 is now open. This year’s theme is Health Services.

Health Services includes all services dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, or the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of human health. In addition to health care, this includes mental, dental, public and environmental health.

Please see attached the nomination form that can be completed and submitted “online” – hard copies can be submitted to our Ministry (details on the attached form), or you can email completed nominations to [email protected]
The Ministry is asking that all nominations be submitted by close of business on Tuesday September 30th, the deadline for the public nomination period. Once the nominations have been received, the National Heroes Day 2015 Committee will review them and make their recommendations for the honourees for the National Heroes Day celebration on Monday January The Minister would be grateful if you could help spread the word and share this information with your contacts. Also, if there is someone you believe is deserving of this recognition, please take the time to nominate them – don’t assume that because the individual is well-known that someone else will nominate them. If you believe someone is worthy of being recognised for their contributions to Health Services in the Cayman Islands, then please submit a nomination for them.

Nominations are now open for the 2015 National Heroes Day Awards for Health Services in the following categories:

Early Pioneer

Any person who has made a significant contribution prior to 1960, to the development and/or delivery of health services in the Cayman Islands. This individual may be alive or deceased. A commemorative insignia and certificate will be awarded.

Pioneer Any person who has made a significant contribution between 1960 – 2004, to the development and/or delivery of health services in the Cayman Islands. This individual may be alive or deceased. A commemorative insignia and certificate will be awarded.

Emerging Pioneer Any person who has made significant contribution from 2004 to present, to the development and/or delivery of health services in the Cayman Islands. This individual will be recognised with a certificate but will not receive a commemorative insignia.

Memorial Scroll Any person who is deceased who was a leader or notable contributor to the development and/or delivery of health services in the Cayman Islands. This individual will be recognised with a certificate but will not receive a commemorative insignia.

Long Service Award Any person (currently alive) who may not necessarily have been a leader, but is a long standing contributor to the development and/or delivery of health services in the Cayman Islands, and who has contributed for ten years or more. This individual will be recognised with a certificate but will not receive a commemorative insignia.

Deadline for submission is 30 September 2014. Only completed nominations received by the deadline will be considered.
