Cayman: NOTICES In respect with mourning period for H.M. Queen Elizabeth II

East End Heritage Day rescheduled until later this month

Grand Cayman – 14 September 2022 – East End Heritage Day, originally scheduled to be held on Friday, 16 September, will now take place on Friday, 30 September, 11am- 12 midnight, East End Heritage Field, Seaview Road. 

The Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage advises that the Pirates Fest event is being rescheduled as a mark of respect to comply with the mourning period following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Post Offices Closed on Saturday, 17 September 2022

Grand Cayman, 14 September 2022 – The Cayman Islands Postal Service wishes to inform the public that all Post Offices across the Cayman Islands will be closed on Saturday, 17 September 2022. 

Acting Postmaster General Melissa Martínez-Ebanks explained, “We are closing to allow all staff the benefit of the long weekend as we mourn the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”

Monday, 19 September, the day of Her Late Majesty The Queen’s state funeral, has been declared as a public holiday in the Cayman Islands. 

All post offices in all districts of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman will reopen for business at their regular hours on Tuesday, 20 September 2022.

The Airport Post Office opens at 8a.m., the General and Seven Mile Beach Post Offices open at 8:15a.m., and all other post offices open at 8:30a.m.
