Cayman: DVDL – Replacement Temporary Plates/Replacement Registration Plates Mar 2-23

The Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing (DVDL) advises members of the public that its Crewe Road location will be opened on Saturdays starting on 2nd March 2024 for the replacement of temporary and old registration (orange and yellow) number plates.

Please note that this location will only be exchanging the temporary and registration number plates on the dates listed below.

Crewe Road location opening dates:

  • Saturday, March 02nd, 2024
  • Saturday, March 09th, 2024
  • Saturday, March 16th, 2024
  • Saturday, March 23rd, 2024

Opening hours will be from 9.00 am – 1.00 pm

Customers are asked to check on our website http://www.dvdl.gov.ky to confirm that their registration plates are ready for collection. Likewise, customers are to ensure that they submit their temporary plates/registration number plates, windshield coupon, and logbook to the Licensing Officer, to collect their new registration plates.  

The public is reminded that failure to replace temporary plates is a criminal offence, with a fine of $2,500 or up to six months imprisonment, or both.

Under the Traffic Act, the Department of Vehicles and Licenses in the Cayman Islands was established to assume a comprehensive range of responsibilities. These include inspecting and testing vehicles, registering motor vehicles, maintaining the register, issuing licenses for both vehicles and drivers, conducting driving tests, and fulfilling any other functions assigned periodically.
