Cayman: COVID-19 Update – Tuesday, 30 November 2021, 8 a.m., 161 NEW Positives, 124,451 vaccinations given

Grand Cayman – At 8 a.m. on Tuesday, 30 November Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Lee reported that 716 PCR tests had been conducted since 8 a.m. on Monday, 29 November. The Public Health Department reported 161 positive results from these tests, all coming from the community.

These results brought the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands to 3,936 as at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, 30 November. The total number of cases recorded since the start of the pandemic stood at 7,235 as at the same time. 

Up to that point, 3,985 people in the Cayman Islands were in isolation either in Government isolation facilities or at home. There were 20 COVID-19 patients hospitalised in the Cayman Islands at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, 30 November.

The Public Health Department also confirmed that up to 8 a.m. on Tuesday, 30 November there had been 1,904 total positive lateral flow tests since the introduction of the lateral flow test programme in the Cayman Islands, which are included in the total positive numbers given above.

As of 8 a.m. on Tuesday, 30 November, Faith Hospital confirmed there were 15 active cases in the Sister Islands, with one identified in the previous 24 hours. To date, there had been 120 total cases recorded in the Sister Islands, with 105 having recovered. Out of the total number of cases in the Sister Islands, 62 were fully vaccinated, six were partially vaccinated, and 52 were unvaccinated.

Up to 8 a.m. on Tuesday, 30 November there had been 124,451 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 58,084 people (82% of 71,106) had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile 56,063 individuals (79%) had completed the two-dose course. 

Additionally, 10,748 people (representing 15% of the total population) had received a third or booster dose up to that point.
