Cayman: COVID-19 Update 4 November 2021, 126 NEW Positives, 116,507 vaccinations given (76 active cases in the Sister Islands)

Grand Cayman, 4 November 2021 – The Public Health Department is reporting that as of 8 a.m. Wednesday, 3 November, there had been 1,115 PCR tests conducted in the prior 24 hours.

Of these, there were 126 positive tests comprising one traveller and 125 from the community.

These results bring the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands to 1,421 as of 8 a.m. Wednesday, 3 November. 

The total number of cases recorded in the Cayman Islands since the start of the pandemic stands at 2,482 as of 8 a.m. Wednesday, 3 November. 

As of 8 a.m. Thursday, 4 November there are 76 active cases in the Sister Islands, with four of these cases identified in the previous 24 hours. All of the new cases were from the community. 

There are currently 11 COVID-19 patients hospitalised in the Cayman Islands, with two receiving supplemental oxygen. There are no patients on ventilators. There are currently no COVID-19 related pediatric admissions, and all hospitalised patients are in stable condition.

As of 8 a.m. on Thursday, 4 November there had been 116,507 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands.  Of these, 56,887 (80% of 71,106) have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 54,690 (77%) have completed the two-dose course.  

Additionally, 4,930 (representing 26% of those over the age of 50) have had a third or booster dose.
