Cayman: COVID-19 Update 29 January 2021 – THREE NEW Positives, 7,853# vaccine doses

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that 339 COVID-19 tests have been carried out since this was last reported on Thursday, 28 January 2021. Three were positive.

The individuals are asymptomatic travellers who tested positive following routine screening. They will remain in isolation until considered recovered.

The number of people in isolation, either at a government facility or in their homes, as required by the Medical Officer of Health, is 993.

A further 780 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered on Thursday, 28 January 2021, including 89 in Cayman Brac. Of the 780 doses, 289 represent an individual’s second dose of the vaccine.

This brings the total number of doses administered in the Cayman Islands to 7,853, of which 610 have been administered in the Sister Islands.
