Shortly after 8:30 PM on Friday, 12 February, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Watercourse Road and Hell Road in West Bay, involving a police service vehicle and a gold Honda Accord. The vehicles collided and the service vehicle then collided with a nearby fence, causing damage. The service vehicle received minor damage, while the Honda was heavily damaged. Both drivers were breath tested, and the driver of the Accord was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Emergency Services attended the scene and the officer driving the service vehicle was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment for minor injuries and subsequently discharged. The driver of the Accord, a man age 46 of West Bay, was uninjured and was later granted bail.
