Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours with UNITS Cayman

Chamber of Commerce President, Joanne Lawson

More than 100 Chamber of Commerce members and guests flocked to Business After
Hours at The White House in George Town on Thursday 23 May – to hear how UNITS
Cayman could help them find solutions to all their storage problems.

“Units offers moving and portable storage solutions,” said Chamber President Joanne
Lawson. “Their products and services are innovative, flexible, convenient affordable and
can be delivered to your doorstep – all while fitting in one single parking spot. This is
fantastic news for Chamber members, many of whom are small businesses. UNITS’
mission is to deliver personal, ‘mom-and-pop’ style customer service while offering the
most innovative and highest quality equipment.”

“UNITS offers Storage solutions – whether your storage needs are personal or for business,
permanent or temporary,” said UNITS’ Vice President Adrienne Politowicz, “The UNITS are
constructed of galvanized steel, they are weatherproof, critter-proof, and they come in two
lengths, 12 and 16 foot long.

“We are committed to making storage convenient by delivering portable storage units to
your location, allowing you to load them at your own pace. You can store units on your own
site or you can transfer it to an alternate location or our soon-to-come 38,000 square foot
humidity controlled hurricane-resistant warehouse. This facility will meet the storage
needs of the islands for many years to come.”

UNITS Cayman is a locally operated franchise of the US-based UNITS Company and was
initially turned down when it made its application – because of Cayman’s small population
size: “Their minimum size for a territory is 800,000,” Politowicz explained, “so they looked
at as at around 70 – 75.000 and said, ‘no way.’ But with the support of Sophia List the Vice
President of DMS and guided from Don Seymour, our team developed a business plan that
highlighted the growth and sophistication of the island. On November the first 2022, UNITS
Cayman Islands joined the 74 US-based franchises and became the first international
franchise for the UNITS Franchise group.”

Representing the Ministry of Innovation, Investment and Social Development, Charles
Brown brought remarks on behalf of Deputy Premier Andre Ebanks: “It is our ministries’
privilege to join with the Chamber this evening to join with the celebration of UNITS as an
exemplar of innovative storage solutions,” he said.
raffle prizes included a 1,000-dollar gift certificate for Cost-U-less, and 1 month’s free
UNITS rental.
