UPDATE: Body of female found now named – West Bay Road

Police can now confirm the name of the deceased as Shakara Taylor, aged 31 years.
Shakara was a UK national who was resident in the Prospect area.
Her family in the UK have been made aware.
There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

The woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, had sustained serious head injuries.
At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained and officers are in the process of contacting the woman’s family.
Anyone who was in the area of the Caribbean Club around 12.30pm today, and has any information which could assist the enquiry, is asked to call George Town police station on 949-4222.

About 12.30pm today, Wednesday 29 May, police received a report that the body of a female had been found outside the Caribbean Club, West Bay Road.
Officers are currently on the scene and a further update will be provided in due course.
