We had a surprising impact protesting outside the UN – the Turkmen President may have seen us!

Activists calling for an end to forced labor in Turkmenistan

We were in New York outside the UN Headquarters a few weeks ago calling for an end to forced labor in the cotton fields in Turkmenistan and to #FreeGaspar.

A big car with a Turkmen license plate pulled up right where we were protesting before speeding off. It is possible that news of our protest directly reached the Turkmen President. This is why taking a stand and raising our voices matters!

90,259 supporters have added their name to call for Gaspar’s release. We want to reach 100,000 so that we can get our petition in front of Turkmen Ambassadors. Let’s show them just how many of us are paying attention!
