An appeal for the Humane Society shops

ThriftHeader-1A message from Janette Fitzgerald, CIHS Retail Director

As you know the shelter is full to bursting at the moment, we have a few things going on in the back ground looking at the long term plans for attempting to control the dog and cat population on this island, something has to be done, I think we all agree on that one.  The Board of Directors are working flat out at the moment liaising with other agencies and Government to find a workable solution.   There is also the current half price adoption offer to encourage people to adopt some of our animals, as well as transfers off Island.

LadiesClothingAll this is, of course, going to cost money.  Two of our main sources of income at the shelter are our two shops, the Book Loft and the Thrift Store.  We always need decent books, games, DVD’s, CD’s, cards, jigsaws etc. for the Book Loft, so if you have any of those, please bring them to us, we will gladly accept them all.  We also pick up.

The Thrift Shop is desperately short of clothes of all sorts, men’s. women’s and children’s.  We do have a steady clientele, but in order to keep them coming to the store and keep them buying from us, we need new stock.  If you are clearing out ANYTHING, clothes or any other household items, please, please either bring it to us at the shelter or call us.

I know most of you have been loyal supporters in the past, for which I thank you, but we really do need your shop donations now.

Thank you and best wishes

Janette Fitzgerald
