Amazing love from the Cayman Male Voice Choir

An almost full Elmslie United Church were treated to a fine Easter concert given by the 26 strong Cayman Male Voice Choir on Good Friday (6). Called “Amazing Love” that was also the name of the Cantata they presented. The all male choir also sang “’Tis Midnight”, “On Olive’s Brow”, “Halleljah! What a Saviour” and “The Old Rugged Cross”.

Other performances were “I Should Have Been Crucified” (solo by Edgar Case), “Calvary’s the Reason Why” (solo by Alden Connolly), “When He Was on the Cross” (solo by Leighton Holness), “Jesus, Rose of Sharon” (solo by Kenneth Melville) and “I Believe in a Hill/Called Mount Calvary” (selection by McDorn Frederick).

The audience joined in with the choir on “At Calvary” and “Lead Me to Calvary”

The Master of Ceremonies was Pr. John McMillan who gave a Vote of Thanks to the performers, the Choir Director Ernest Bodden and the accompanist Marjane Ebanks-Fellows. I said in my introduction “the ALL male choir” but there was actually a female present who also got thanked. She was Linda Ebanks, the choir’s Co-director, who conducted the choir’s individual pieces.

It was a most enjoyable evening and a fitting start to Easter. I was moved almost to tears with the excellent renditions and if you weren’t there you missed a wonderful holy event. I was pleased Radio Cayman were on hand to broadcast it and perhaps you were able to listen to the choir through their medium.

Thank you Cayman Male Voice Choir for all the hard work you must have put in to attain such excellence.
