Cayman footballer shot in Honduras

article-2263188-16F7F248000005DC-654_634x439Arturo Johnson, a Honduran national who earned a cap with the Cayman Islands National Team in 2001 was shot on 20 April 2013 in a Honduras nightclub.

Johnson is also is a former Bodden Town Football Club player who helped the team win its first FA Cup title in 2001.

Although now conscious and his condition is improving, Johnson’s wife, Angeline, said his lungs and spinal cord were hit by the bullet and he will be paralyzed.

His doctors also confirmed Johnson will not walk again.

He had been in a coma for many days after the shooting.
