We asked you to capture the color red for our latest photo challenge, hosted by photographer Jonathan Suarez.

We were open to frames filled from left to right in red, or images that included just a dash of color — and the 500 submissions we saw were a perfect mix of both.

“Shooting for a specific theme certainly gets the creative juices flowing,” Suarez said. “When I shoot, I never shoot for a specific color so it was interesting to see everyone’s take on red.”

Suarez joined Instagram two years ago and immediately became an active member of the platform’s community of artists.

“Instagram can also help you grow as a photographer. Not only is it a great source of inspiration, it is a great platform to showcase your work and read what others have to say about it,” he said. “Positive reinforcement goes a long way. Had it not been for Instagram, I probably would never have found my passion for photography.”
