100+ Women Who Care Cayman Islands raised $6,107 for local charities

On September 28, 2023 100+ Women Who Care held their third event of the year at Guy Harvey’s Boathouse Grill. The ‘Girl’s night out with a difference’ aimed at achieving more together within the Cayman community. Cayman Youth Inc won the main pot of $4,107 donated by the members. Jasmine and YMCA of the Cayman Islands both left with $1,000 thanks to platinum sponsor Kirk Freeport. In total, the event raised $6,107. Miss Universe Cayman Islands, Ileann Powery, rewarded the winning charity with their cheque.

At the start of the evening at 6pm, after donating $100 CI, all women were welcomed with a raffle ticket, a voting card, a goodie bag, a mini massage, and a complimentary drink provided by drink sponsor Grey Goose Essences. Vicky Wheaton, our emcee for the evening, started off the 5-minute charity presentations. Winslow Johnson presented for Cayman Youth Inc, Sophie Munden for Jasmine, and Paola Juarez-Robinson & Tricia Irving for YMCA of the Cayman Islands. After their time was up, all members voted for their favorite to win, and the volunteers counted the cash and votes behind the scenes whilst so many raffle prizes were awarded. We topped up our refreshments at the bar while catching up with friends and making new acquaintances. Special thanks to our venue sponsor Market Street Group for hosting this event at the wonderful Guy Harvey’s Boathouse Grill.
