Cayman Islands Legislative Assembly to deliver Strategic Policy Statement Wed (26)

9783213GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands – The Government will deliver its Strategic Policy Statement for the 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 budget years when the Legislative Assembly convenes at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, 26 November, 2014.

The purpose of the SPS is to outline the Government’s medium term fiscal plans and policy priorities and to establish the framework that will guide the development of the 2015-16 budget, which will take effect on 1 July, 2015.

Following the adoption of the SPS, the House is expected to debate three Government bills, the Summary Jurisdiction (amendment) Bill, the Second-hand Dealers Bill, the Trade and Business Licensing and Development and Planning (amendment) Regulations 2014.

There will also be a presentation of papers and reports including financial statements from various government entities.

The House is also expected to deal with a number of parliamentary questions posed to the Honourable Ministers and Members of the Cabinet by members of the Opposition as well as five Private Member Motions.
