Statement from Customs Collector on Animal incident on Board Incoming Flight

“The public will be aware that an unsecured animal created a scare on board Cayman Airways flight 107 from Miami to on Wednesday night, 7th June 2017. The animal has been identified as a “Petaurus Breviceps” commonly known as a “”. The Collector of Customs can confirm that as a result of this incident, arrested two passengers, a male and a female, on suspicion of a number of offences related to the matter.

The two arrested individuals were released on bail and the investigation into the matter is ongoing. Following the conclusion of the investigation, the case file will be referred to the Director of which is the usual practice with all investigations.”

Further to the recent statement, the Collector of Customs adds:

“The male is 31 years of age and the female is 26 years of age. They are both living in Bodden Town.”
