Conor McGregor goes nuts at UFC 223 event and Twitter is here for it

By BRIAN MARTIN Daily News From O C Register

One day after the UFC officially declared Conor McGregor was being stripped of his UFC lightweight championship, the Irish superstar might be done with the UFC.

McGregor and his entourage crashed a UFC 223 event Thursday at Barclays Center that began with McGregor throwing chairs, bike racks and trash cans at a van carrying several fighters, apparently injuring one of them, and ended with an arrest warrant allegedly being issued for McGregor.

UFC President Dana White told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto he is done doing business with the fighting phenom, whose inactivity resulted in the UFC deciding to award his title to the winner of Saturday night’s main-event fight between top-ranked Khabib Nurmagomedov and featherweight champion Max Holloway.

What’s uncertain is why McGregor went ballistic. Was it because he was stripped of the title?

Or was he upset with Nurmagomedov and his team for getting into an altercation with McGregor training partner Artem Lobov on Tuesday at the fighters’ hotel.

White announced Thursday that Lobov, who was present for the backstage melee, would no longer be fighting Alex Caceres on the prelims card Saturday.

Here’s how it went down on Twitter on Thursday, from media members reporting what they heard and saw and others reacting to it and a disgusted White speaking his mind.

This was filmed by UFC strawweight Felice Herrig and posted to her Instagram

One of the people on the bus caught footage of McGregor going off, including cracking the windshield with a projectile.

White did not hold back in an interview with ESPN’s Okamoto
